It is critical to follow all handling instructions. If not properly handled, the hollow core plank can easily break and lead to costly replacement pieces. Typically, pick points are 2’ to 3’ max. from each end of the plank. Hollow core plank cannot be handled by picking in the middle of the piece. Please contact your StresCore project manager for further handling instructions. See the attached link for additional guidance.

Yes, the hollow core can be susceptible to water and ice when left exposed to the elements. Frozen ice can cause the cores to split and lead to costly repairs. Always protect the hollow core from weather until under roof. As an alternate, hollow core can have weepholes added in the field at an additional cost in order to drain any water collected to the cores and prevent the water from freezing.. Lead times vary seasonally and are determined by StresCore’s current workload. A typical project will take 3 weeks for shop drawings and 4 to 6 weeks for fabrication after approved shop drawings. However, during busy times of the year or if your project is larger, lead times may increase by several months.
